Terms of Service

Last updated: July 14, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the websites, Bible web app, mobile app, content library, livestream, account features, event features, CMS features, APIs, and related services operated by Union Pentecostal Church ("UPC," "we," "us," or "our") (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Who We Are

UPC operates the Services to support church communication, Bible study, sermons, articles, events, livestreaming, ministry information, mobile app features, and related administrative workflows.

Union Pentecostal Church
1101 N Union Rd
Dayton, OH 45417

Accounts

Some features require a UPC account, including saved content, bookmarks, Bible notes, Bible highlights, event RSVPs, notification preferences, AI features, mobile sync, administrative tools, and CMS access.

You agree to provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and promptly notify us if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account unless caused by UPC's failure to use reasonable security safeguards.

You may not share administrative or CMS credentials. UPC may require password, email, Google, Apple, or other supported sign-in methods, and may add, remove, or change sign-in options over time.

Eligibility and Children

The Services are intended for a general church audience. If you are under 13, you may not create an account or submit personal information through the Services without permission from your parent or guardian. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minors' use of the Services.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or threatening purposes.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, CMS tools, APIs, databases, files, livestream controls, or administrative areas.
  • Probe, scan, overload, disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape, crawl, or attack the Services except as expressly authorized by UPC.
  • Bypass authentication, authorization, rate limits, security controls, content protections, or access restrictions.
  • Upload or submit malware, malicious code, spam, unauthorized advertising, or content that violates another person's rights.
  • Misrepresent your identity, affiliation, role, permissions, or authorization.
  • Use AI, search, APIs, or automation in a way that abuses the Services, extracts data at scale, or interferes with normal operation.
  • Copy, redistribute, sell, commercially exploit, or publicly rebroadcast UPC content unless you have permission or the use is allowed by law.

UPC may suspend, restrict, or terminate access if we believe these Terms have been violated, if access creates security or operational risk, or if required by law.

User Content and Saved Data

"User Content" means information you submit, create, save, or upload through the Services, such as Bible notes, bookmarks, highlights, RSVPs, search or Ask queries, contact messages, media files, captions, transcripts, article drafts, sermon data, CMS content, or other submissions.

You keep ownership of your User Content, subject to any rights UPC already has in church-owned, commissioned, licensed, or administrative content. You grant UPC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, transmit, display, modify, format, index, search, back up, and otherwise use your User Content as needed to provide, secure, maintain, improve, and administer the Services.

You represent that you have the rights needed to submit User Content and that your User Content does not violate law, these Terms, or another person's rights. UPC may remove or restrict User Content at its discretion.

UPC Content

The Services include sermons, articles, Bible study materials, images, videos, audio, livestreams, transcripts, graphics, designs, logos, text, software, and other content owned by UPC or its licensors ("UPC Content").

UPC Content is provided for personal, ministry, educational, and church-related use. You may not copy, modify, sell, redistribute, commercially exploit, or publicly rebroadcast UPC Content without permission, except where allowed by law or expressly enabled by the Services.

Bible Content and Study Features

Bible reading, search, notes, highlights, bookmarks, saved passages, and related features are provided as study tools. You are responsible for how you use and interpret study materials. UPC may change available translations, features, formatting, search behavior, and sync behavior over time.

AI Features

The Services may include AI-assisted search, Ask features, Bible explanations, summaries, transcription-related workflows, semantic search, embeddings, image generation, and related-content features.

AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or inappropriate for your situation. AI features are provided for informational and study support only. They are not pastoral counseling, professional advice, legal advice, medical advice, financial advice, or an authoritative statement of UPC doctrine.

You are responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on it, sharing it, publishing it, or using it in ministry or administrative decisions. Do not submit confidential, highly sensitive, or third-party personal information into AI prompts or free-form fields unless you have the right to do so and understand that it may be processed by UPC and its service providers.

Events and Reminders

Event information, dates, times, locations, costs, registration links, and availability may change. Event reminders and mobile notifications are provided for convenience only and may be delayed, fail to appear, or contain outdated information. You are responsible for confirming important event details through official UPC channels.

Online Giving and Third-Party Services

The Services may link to external giving, payment, registration, map, app-store, livestream, social sign-in, email, or other third-party services. These services are operated by third parties, not UPC, and may have their own terms, privacy policies, fees, refund rules, security practices, and data practices.

Online giving currently directs users to an external giving provider. UPC does not receive or store full payment card numbers through the UPC website or mobile app unless expressly stated otherwise. Donation questions, refund requests, tax-receipt questions, or payment issues should be directed to UPC or the applicable payment provider as appropriate.

UPC is not responsible for third-party websites or services. Links do not imply endorsement unless we expressly say so.

Mobile App, Offline Content, and Notifications

The UPC mobile app may store account session data, preferences, Bible data, Bible notes, highlights, bookmarks, search history, event cache data, event reminder settings, scheduled local notifications, Firebase installation and messaging state, and downloaded content on your device. When you enable optional email or push notifications, UPC may store your notification-category choices and provider delivery records. For push notifications, UPC may also store your Firebase Installation ID, FCM registration token, and app and platform information on its servers.

Offline downloads are provided for personal use within the app. You may remove downloaded content through the app, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Some account deletion flows remove server-side account data but may not automatically remove all content stored locally on your device.

The mobile app may request permissions such as internet access, notifications, media playback, and background behavior needed for audio playback or reminder scheduling. You can manage certain permissions through your device settings and manage optional UPC email/push categories through the Services where available. Notification preferences and device permission are separate controls, and notifications may be delayed, suppressed, duplicated, or fail to arrive because of device, network, provider, account, or service conditions.

Administrative and CMS Access

If UPC grants you CMS, administrative, editorial, livestream, media, analytics, user-management, or other privileged access, you agree to:

  • Use that access only for authorized UPC purposes.
  • Keep credentials confidential and not share accounts.
  • Respect the privacy and confidentiality of account, member, contributor, staff, event, media, and administrative information.
  • Make accurate content and data changes.
  • Understand that administrative activity may be logged and audited.
  • Promptly report suspected unauthorized access, data issues, or security concerns.

UPC may revoke privileged access at any time.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your UPC account through supported account settings or by contacting UPC. Account deletion removes account-owned data such as your account profile, sessions, sign-in methods, account settings, saved sermons, saved articles, event RSVPs, Bible bookmark groups, Bible bookmark verses, Bible highlights, notification preferences, push-notification installations and registration tokens, and notification delivery records addressed to your account, subject to lawful retention needs and technical limitations.

UPC may retain certain records after account deletion, including published content, CMS-managed content, content-backed notification campaign records with deleted-account actor references cleared, administrative audit records, security logs, legal records, backup copies, and records needed for fraud prevention, tax, accounting, dispute resolution, or compliance.

Service Availability and Changes

We may change, suspend, discontinue, limit, or remove any part of the Services at any time. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available on every device, browser, platform, or network.

We may release updates that change features, data formats, APIs, storage behavior, mobile app behavior, or compatibility requirements.

No Warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, UPC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and security.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, UPC and its officers, pastors, staff, volunteers, agents, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, loss of access, lost profits, service interruption, device issues, or reliance on content or AI output.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless UPC and its officers, pastors, staff, volunteers, agents, and service providers from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Services, violation of these Terms, violation of law, or User Content you submit.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Venue for disputes will be in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, unless applicable law requires another forum.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice through the Services or another reasonable method. Continued use of the Services after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
